A dream... a vision of ultimately making a difference... these are the words that can adequately describe the humble beginning of the Data Center College of the Philippines. A small , dedicated grou area handful of studentsp of people then set about making this dream into a reality. Our school pioneers began the venture in the year 1970 in Davao City. It all started with a few classrooms, 1 computer room, and a small reception area handful of students were training in keypunching operations, basic computer concepts, and some programming languages for the mainframe computers. The technological revolution was just in tits infancy and the current rage was the use of the bulky, IBM Computer mainframes.

Educating the people about the importance of computer was the school's primary objectives. It was the learning center's belief that after laying the proper foundation , computer education will come a lot easier, not just for us, but also for others willing to put up the same type of training. The cool reception that we received during our very early years became frustrating indeed, but we persevered and sacrificed, not admitting to ourselves and to anyone that we failed in our noble endeavor. The face of diversity provided the motivation that propelled us to our rebirth, proving once more that hard work and determination will never go to waste.
